PhotoFacial For The Treatment Of Rosacea
The PhotoFacial procedure, is a new treatment uses pulses of light to eliminate the redness and flushing of rosacea. In a study of sixteen patients with rosacea, Dr. Patrick Bitter Sr., developer of the device, treated the facial redness using intense pulses of light from a PhotoDerm (ESC Medical). This intense pulsed light emitting medical device allows the doctor to precisely set the characteristics of the light energy for each patient's skin, permitting exact treatment of the dilated blood vessels and redness without injuring the remainder of the skin. With this treatment the entire face is treated in 8-10 minutes using repetitive flashes of light from the PhotoDerm. No anesthesia is necessary and patients experience only mild redness immediately after treatments. All patients are able to return to their full activities immediately.
Typically 75-95%, on average 90% improvement is seen in most patients. Those patients that undergo treatment for stretch marks generally see a 50% improvement with the PhotoFacial.
